I really enjoyed how you worked with the "possible one night stand" issue from the comics and you've done a really awesome job with the dialogue and characterizations in this. The whole part after Spike walks Buffy home was so, so great and the feeling of friendship/sweetness/UST there is completely amazing. And this: “Oh, Melissa-Alyssa,” sighs Spike. How will I mend my broken heart?” Buffy’s nails dig into her palm." totally cracked me up because it is so very THEM -- I could hear Spike saying it and I could see Buffy's trying-not-to-show-she's-super-annoyed reaction.
Also: as far as the whole "Who did Buffy actually sleep with?" question, I'm leaning towards no one and that Joss is just trying to mess with the shippers. Both Xander and Riley are out, I think, because it would make those characters look bad to not only cheat on their significant others but ALSO to have sex with super-drunk Buffy and the writers are pretty keen on both Xander and Riley as hero-great-guy-types. And Spike is out, too, because again: consent issues. And I also think that if it had been him, he'd never have been able to just let it lie, but would have said something--even if it was oblique or teasing--to Buffy about it. As for Buffy's boss and the mystery neighbor: the first one just seems boring/unnecessary (like, does anyone actually care if Buffy might have slept with him?) and the second doesn't make sense because Buffy assumes she had sex in her room, right? And Heinrich didn't leave his place? I think? I don't know, I find the comics hard to follow sometimes, tbh. (And, geez, I didn't mean to write a whole novel about that--I apparently just have a lot of feelings about this issue?)
ANYWAY: this story was completely and utterly perfect and I really hope something like this actually happens in the comics <333
