Sometimes I like to think that all the Scoobies packed bags for the bus in case they had to leave Sunnydale, like Buffy packing Mr. Gordo or Dawn her diary, but that seems a tad optimistic

Well, Buffy does have Mr. Gordo - he was seen in season 8 and again in 9.01 - so you may be right!
