This episode is pretty great. All of the elements of storytelling really pulled together so we could see monster-of-the-week, development, and backstory.
In episodes to come when Dean acts like an immature, horny, sexist jerk, this is the kind of the episode I’m going to pull out of the memory banks to remind me why I love this man.
As I'm getting into S3 I wonder sometimes if some of the writers straight up didn't see episodes like this one. Or are completely unaware of Dean's early progression. Bah. (Kind of like how Bill in TrueBlood has moments which in no way resemble Bill in the novels... just to throw in all of my tv angst at once)
