The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Dawn, definitely.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: I can't stand Joyce.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I like Xander a lot more than most people in our corner of fandom do. I think he has many, many substantive flaws, but I can understand many of his choices, even if I don't agree with them, and I think he matured during the show, as opposed to regressing.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: After getting into fandom and reading meta, I don't love Willow nearly as much as I used to.
The character I would shag anytime: Spike Spike Spike Spike Spike, as long as Buffy didn't mind.
The character I'd want to be like: Willow in S1-3, Buffy in S4-7.
The character I'd slap: Almost everyone at some point. Spike in "Dead Things," Willow in all of S6, Xander a LOT but probably the most in "Entropy," Dawn in "Empty Places," Giles in "Two To Go"/"Grave," Riley in "As You Were," Oz in "Wild At Heart."
My five favorite characters: Spike, Buffy, Anya. I guess Willow and Xander, although there are huge chunks of the show where I really dislike them.
My five least favorite characters: Riley, Angel, Joyce, Faith (though it's more ambivalence than dislike), Giles in S6/S7
My deep dark fandom secret: I really don't like Buffy in S2 and S3. I have a very hard time seeing the chemistry between Spike and Dru.
The other fandoms I could talk a lot about are AtS, Star Trek, HIMYM, Bones, Cougar Town, The Big Bang Theory, Arrested Development, Firefly, and S1 of SPN. To a lesser degree, I could also talk about Dollhouse and BSG. :)

I'd be up for SPN S1, if you thought you could actually find something to say for all the questions. One of the difficulties with early SPN is that there are so few recurring characters.
*icon chosen just for you!*

Hmm, I will give SPN my best shot, despite the sad lack of recurring characters.
The first character I fell in love with: Dean
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Um...I like Sam much more than I used to.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Um...John?
The character I love that everyone else hates: I don't think there is one yet.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Ditto.
The character I would shag anytime: Dean, although Sam wouldn't exactly be a trial. *g*
The character I'd want to be like: Hmm hmm hmm, I actually don't know. Both boys have traits I admire but also traits I really dislike. I'd want to have Dean's courage and I'd want to have Sam's independence.
The character I'd slap: John
My five favorite characters: Lol. Dean, Sam.
My five least favorite characters: Hah. I, uh, don't care much for John, but by now it's more apathy than dislike.
My deep dark fandom secret: Possibly the current correct answer for this is a big fat N/A, but I do happen to buy Sam's angst over Jess, despite the fact that she was on the show for five minutes.
Well that was probably not very interesting. I watched "Salvation" last night. That was interesting!

Already? It took me a lot longer to warm up to him, although I think I'd like him fine in S1 now if I went back and rewatched.

Yeah. I like Jess a whole lot better in theory than execution; I've read some really fabulous fic that focused on her that's made me love her.

Yay yay! Salvation is pretty excellent (although I was mad that we introduced those other hunter characters just to kill them two minutes later). Lots of good characters stuff there, and good plotty stuff. Can't wait to read your review!

To be fair, I think I am looking for reasons to like him, because I think I would have given up on SPN if I consistently disliked or was apathetic about one of the two characters. Sam doesn't inspire passion in me the way Dean does, but analytically, I can relate to him, and I appreciate the way he contrasts Dean, such as by not kowtowing to John in earlier episodes. The increasing range of Jared's very fine acting chops has also helped a ton.
Posted it yesterday morning! :) http://gryfndor-godess.livejournal.com/103899.html

You like Xander, too? Sweet!
