Other questions to ponder: Assuming they did get back together, would they ever marry? Who would be the driving force behind it? If it were Xander, would Anya agree more-or-less immediately or he would have to do a lot of legwork to win back her trust in that particular matter? When would it happen?
My Opinion: I’m a staunch Xander/Anya shipper, so my answer is absolutely they would have gotten back together, and I think it would happened in the next season. I think the last few episodes of S7 made it clear that they still loved each other, and once the First was taken care of and life calmed down a bit, I think they would have slipped pretty quickly back into a relationship, even if it was a begrudging one at first and it took them, say, until Sweeps Week or the finale to declare it official to everyone else.
As for marriage, I like to think that Xander would eventually become secure enough to marry her. After what he put her through, Anya would take some convincing, though! In my post-NFA head-canon, he proposes multiple times over the next several years to no avail…and then when he’s almost killed in a demon attack, she bursts out, “Xander! Xander, don’t die, you’re not allowed to die! I’ll marry you, I’ll marry you, just don’t die!”

This may come as a shock, but Spuffy’s not the only couple I daydream about. :D
