Ringer News

It looks like I will have my first CW show to watch next season, because the CW has reportedly picked up SMG's pilot "Ringer"!  Though CBS and ABC co-produced it, apparently CBS's love for SMG did not extend to the pilot.  While CBS's pass does not imbue me with enthusiasm, maybe Ringer will have a better chance on the CW anyway because it probably won't be competing against as many shows in the same target demographic.  Also, if it's on the CW it will probably be picked up for next fall, whereas CBS might have moved it to a mid-season pickup in 2012 (and I have waited long enough to have SMG back on the small screen, thanks).  So this CW switch-up is surprising news, but I'd say it's also good news.  :D

It has a good supporting cast as well - Ioan Gruffudd, one of my favorite British actors, and Nestor Carbonell, who was Richard Alpert on Lost.

The irrational fangirl in me was hoping other BtVS alums would be cast in it, but I do like Ioan Gruffudd a lot.

I had the biggest crush on Ioan Gruffudd when he was in the BBC Horatio Hornblower movies!

I've only ever seen him in Fantastic Four but he was definitely one of the good parts of that movie! He's the kind of man who seems to age really well (not that he's old now, but he has a silver fox look about him that I like).

We can have BtVS alums as Very Special guest stars.

Gosh, I hope so. NB still does TV, and maybe Seth Green and Michelle Trachtenberg would guest since they're friends with SMG. And of course, one can always hope for James...
