Finally caving and doing this because I want a distraction from studying:

We mostly get snarking in S5 because their presence in each other's lives is so new and unexpected and they're used to acting like they despise each other

I wouldn't be too surprised if they kept up the snarking for all eternity, post-romance or not. :P
