30 Days of Disney: Day 7: Favorite Sidekick

I think I must generally just have a thing for Eddie Murphy as the Sidekick because I also adore Donkey; out of all the inestimable and wonderful Disney sidekicks, Mushu is my favorite. He’s hilarious, he’s snarky, he puts on airs and tries to be more than he is, and he really, really, really takes care of Mulan. Love him!

ARGH!! I LOVE THIS GUY!!! I need to rewatch Mulan, because of awesomeness.

If I were to chose, it would be Phil (Hercules), because he's funny, but he's also a complex character, and I get all fangirl-y at the end of the film when he gets his dream. Squee. Though I suspect, when I was a toddler, I just liked Phil because he was half goat and this was an amazing concept for my little toddler mind to comprehend...

:D He's probably my favorite part of Mulan, aside from "I'll Make A Man Out of You."

Oh, I love Phil, too! He's hilarious, and his song is excellent (as is all the music in Hercules). Agreed, he is complex; I like how he is justly suspicious of Meg and doesn't cater to Herc's whims. Danny DeVito did a fantastic job with him.
