It is so very great. I think the writers are definitely pushing Stelena, too, though; the cutesiness is just so genuine- which is why I can stomach it, even if it does make me roll my eyes.

But I think you're supposed to be at least fascinated by Damon, even if you think he's a jerkface.
Oh, I am definitely fascinated by him. I don't think I would call him my favorite character (that would feel unfair to the ladies, who are just all so excellent), but he is definitely the character I most enjoy watching on-screen. Ian Somerhalder is extremely talented at playing up the sarcasm, charm, and brutality. Also, Damon gets the best lines.
