Title: Intervention
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Illyria and Eldre Koh stage an intervention.  2,400 words.
A/N: This is my [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy ficlet, posted and written just under the wire, so I apologize if it’s a bit sloppy.  This is a comics!fic, but as I’ve only read one issue (the first Billy issue) since #10 (when Spike left), its adherence to comics!canon is liberal at best.  I basically took some elements I had heard about from previous issues or knew were in the pipeline (e.g., Illyria) and ran with them.

This was the first time since S8 that I got my physical copy before finding a download, and that was kind of neat/weird to open it and not know what I would find.

Title: Hey There, Blondie Bear (Part 5/5)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Being normal doesn’t include having a vampire for a boyfriend, even one with a soul, but Spike’s not willing to be just her friend anymore.  Is “normal” all it’s cracked up to be?  Is it worth the price?  Begins after issue #10 (which will be released 6/13), which is when Spike will temporarily leave S9 for his own miniseries.  3,000 words.  Part 1Part 2Part 3, Part 4

A/N: Finally, the end!  Thank you so much to everyone who has read and commented and offered encouragement so far.  This fic kept growing in unanticipated directions, and the feedback really motivated me to get through the rough patches.  Meanwhile, I think I’ve listened to “Hey There, Delilah” more times in the past month and a half than I have combined since 2007…

I’ll be traveling tomorrow and won’t have Wi-Fi until Friday night, so I’ll be delayed in responding to comments, but thank you in advance for any feedback, and I hope you like the ending!

A/N: This section is a little over 5,000 words.  Last part will be up later tonight!

Title: Hey There, Blondie Bear (Part 3/5)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Being normal doesn’t include having a vampire for a boyfriend, even one with a soul, but Spike’s not willing to be just her friend anymore.  Is “normal” all it’s cracked up to be?  Is it worth the price?  Begins after issue #10 (which will be released 6/13), which is when Spike will temporarily leave S9 for his own miniseries.  5,000 words.  Part 1 and Part 2.
A/N: Turns out the fic is going to be longer than I last thought, so it will actually be four parts instead of three.  Assuming I can tear myself away from A Game of Thrones long enough to write, I'll probably post the last part on Monday.
A/N 2: As I don’t read Angel & Faith, nothing that happened with Harmony there is relevant to this fic.  Thanks to Mari for clarifying some details about S8 for me!

Trigger Warning: Teensy bit of self-harm in this section.
A/N: Here's the second part of the Spike-miniseries-inspired fic!  I'll have the third and last part up sometime in the near future, definitely before #10 comes out.

Hey There, Blondie Bear (Part 1/5)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Being normal doesn’t include having a vampire for a boyfriend, even one with a soul, but Spike’s not willing to be just her friend anymore.  Is “normal” all it’s cracked up to be?  Is it worth the price?  Begins after issue #10 (which will be released 6/13), which is when Spike will temporarily leave S9 for his own miniseries.  5,200 words.
A/N: I started writing this exactly a month ago after the Spike miniseries was announced and some articles/interviews insinuating that Spike and Buffy couldn’t be together simply because he’s a vampire greatly annoyed me.  As more information has come out, I’ve reconciled to the idea of the miniseries, but writing fic is still how I patch up my abused little Spuffy heart.

This fic will probably be about 15-20K words in total.  About half of it’s written so far, and the rest is outlined, so it won’t be a WIP for very long.

Title: Picture Perfect
Summary: After Sunnydale, Buffy wants something to remember Spike by, just in case.  Set during the party in Season 9, Issue #1.  4,400 words.
Rated: PG-13
Disclaimer: These characters are not mine; I am making no money, etc.
A/N: Apparently being disgruntled by the comics spurs me to write cause I started this a little over a month ago but didn’t feel very inspired until after #7 came out!  Anyway, it takes place during #1, so nothing in #7 affects it, and it’s comics-canon-compliant.  For those who don’t read the comics, all but the last 400 or so words could also be applicable to a general post-NFA future, no comics required.

OH MY GOD.  JUST READ THE COMIC AND AM HAPPILY FLIPPING A SHIT BECAUSE IT IS PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL, AND THE LAST TWO PAGES, ALDKFJALKDJFLADJFLAJDFK.

Like, I don't even feel the need to fic this issue because the Spuffy (and the Buffy & Dawn, Buffy & Robin, Nikki & Crowley, Spike & Dowling, EVERYTHING ELSE) already makes me so happy!  (Still writing my future!domestic-Spuffy!Andrew-baby-daddy!baby!fic, though- it's just not based around this issue.)

ETA: Although there's definitely a drabble or ficlet begging to be written with Buffy asking, "What did you need to tell me?"

Title: Denouement
Rating: PG
Summary: Willow’s not the best person to comfort Buffy, but she knows who is.  Takes place immediately after issue #4 and actually isn’t precluded by #5.  The first line of the fic is from the #4, which was written by Andrew Chambliss.
Word Count: 7,100
Author’s Note: I started this pretentiously titled fic (not pretentiously titled on purpose; I just couldn't think of anything; "Aftermath" and "Solace" seemed too bland) not long after the issue actually came out but struggled with it for a while and was only able to finish it today.  The impetus for it was that I was disgruntled with the writers for not having Buffy think of Spike before leaving the warehouse with Willow, and I wanted to flesh out Spike’s reasons for leaving without talking to her because I wasn’t entirely satisfied with his characterization.  This is my take on what could have transpired after the issue.
This was also supposed to the first chapter in a much, much, much longer fic; namely, a Spike/Buffy/Dowling love triangle fic.  For now, this stands as a one-shot.  I have a skeletal plot of the rest of it and still like it, so I may write it some point, but now that #5 is out and it would be thoroughly AU, I make no promises.

ETA: Apparently 7,000 words is too long for LJ to handle.  *sigh*  Most annoyingly this is in two parts, but it's just one fic.  This first part is about 2,300 words.

Title: Her Right Hand
Rating: PG-13 (a little swearing)
Word Count: 4,600
A/N: This is a Buffy/Spike comics!fic inspired by the cover for #8 that was released a few days ago.  Be warned, the cover is EXTREMELY spoiler-y (or so Scott Allies claims; personally, I’m hoping he’s a lying, trolling jackass).  There isn’t really a summary for this fic except, well, Buffy and Spike reacting to what that cover shows.

ETA: Everything in italics is supposed to be in italics, but the different fonts are not on purpose and don't mean anything; that's just LJ being stupid.

Title: Propositions
Rating: G
Summary: At the end of Severin's arc (i.e., this is not directly post 9.3 but takes place sometime later in the season), Buffy ponders her track record with men and takes matters into her own hands.  900 words.
A/N: I figured out something to write in reaction to issue #3 after all!  Comments on my Thinky Thoughts post inspired me, and I ended up frantically writing this at 1:00 AM and then tidying it up this morning.  :)

Firstly, let me just say that even though I’m very critical of the writers, that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying S9 and looking forward to more.  I’m critical because I care, so I hope no one thinks I’m trying to be a buzzkill.  Onward to the thinky thoughts…

So far I like the plot of S9 but not the execution of it. )

Title: Long Time Coming
Rating: PG-13 (discussions related to sex but no actual sex)
Summary: This fic is a continuation of “Freefall, Part 2,” issue #2 of S9.  Literally.  Buffy’s first line of dialogue is from the issue, which was written by Andrew Chambliss.  For those not keeping up with the comics but interested in reading anyway, the issue ends with Buffy encountering a mysterious boy who can somehow turn vampires into dead humans with his touch.  Buffy is on the run from the police, who suspect her of being responsible for all the corpses that keep popping up.
This ridiculously long fic, which I started over three weeks ago and which just kept growing, was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] eilowyn when we discussed being frustrated that the comics weren’t addressing what had passed between Buffy and Spike in “Chosen.”  I do not presume to claim in any way that I addressed “Chosen” well, but I gave it a shot.  I'm not 100% satisfied with it, but I want to get it posted and over with before issue #3 hits the stands in, oh, hours, and I need to get back to my WIP, so here it is, all 9,500 words.  *headdesk*
(And yes, I’m aware that the preview pages for #3 make this scenario impossible; I knew from the get-go that my continuation would be wildly AU and indulged in using Severin this way anyway because the circumstances were so deliciously ripe for provoking discussion and H/C.)

EDIT: Ack, my post is too long.  SIGH.  All right, this is getting split into two parts but only because of LJ's posting limits; the fic is meant to be read in one piece.  This part is approximately 6,500 words.

Title: Firmer Ground
Summary: In an attempt to allay some of her worries about the previous night and fill in the gaps in her memory, Buffy asks Spike an awkward question.  Follows directly after S9 Issue #1 “Freefall.”
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 4,200
Disclaimer: The characters belong to Joss Whedon, this is just for fun, etc.
Author’s Note: Apparently the comic writers don’t care if Buffy was sexually assaulted during her blackout period, since they’re using the “Whom did Buffy sleep with while completely inebriated and unable to give consent?” question for humor.  However, I care, and my Buffy and Spike care, too.
Usually my fics that are inspired by the comics are very readable/understandable even if you don’t like or don’t read the comics.  Unfortunately, this isn’t really one of them.  Here’s what you need to know if you don’t like the comics but are still interested: Buffy threw a huge party, got obscenely drunk, and possibly slept with someone.  After piecing together parts of her memory the next day, she still doesn’t know whom she slept with.  The issue ends with Buffy, Spike, and Willow patrolling; this fic starts a little while later, after Willow has left.
This turned out to be much longer and shippier than I anticipated.  I guess I just can’t help myself when it comes to these two.

LJ cuts aren't working properly for me, which is why the cut is above the summary

I bring S9 fic for [livejournal.com profile] penny_lane_42! This follows from the S9 preview pages of Buffy and Spike at her party and is 3,100 words instead of 500 words because word limits and Alexandra are un-mixy things.
Title: Hers
Rating: PG-13
A/N: The “Trouble” demons belong to Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek.
