Spike might have gone away, but he's constantly on the back of Buffy's mind, which he darn well should be!
That said, I feel bad for Dowling. He's such a nice guy, but he just doesn't quite compare. And he's the one who's going to be hurt when Spike eventually comes back. *sigh* The poor guy doesn't deserve to be a casualty of Buffy's project "Normal".
I really enjoyed how other characters observed this new situation.
Also, Buffy's thoughts about the rom-com? Nice meta-commentary!
