Not to invalidate your uncomfortableness, but I guess my problem here is - how many characters on TV are actually portrayed as non-hetero? The writers are never gonna go there on this show, that's a near-certainty.
And re: Dean/Cas, it's not really a sexual tension "it could happen" thing so much as a narrative "what their characters do for each other's development" thing. Which, obviously, I feel differently about Cas's arc. *g*
