Oh my...goddess. Where do I even start? As I sit here sniffling on the bus as people stare at me all I can say is,
CARPE SPUFFY!
This story was just perfect. Buffy's speech was beautiful. I'm going to go back and comment on some specific points, but for now I have to say I liked the alternate ending much better. It was fluffy but still felt real. I want this to actually happen with every fiber of my being. I want Joss to read this. I want everyone to see the beauty that is Spuffy. Perfect, eternal love, these two. Pure and evolved - you're right.
That said, I think Spuffy has been given a fighting chance in the comics. While Bangel has caused unimaginable tragedy, Buffy has re-discovered her Spike and found solice in their friendship. They are best side-by-side. Joss is aware of the power of this couple. I know he is.
