gryfndor_godessFirstly, thank you so, so much to those who responded to my thread on the Holiday Love Meme. It was the first time I'd ever participated in one of those, and by the end I was berating myself for never doing one before. Usually I feel awkward about memes like that because, well, it's fishing for compliments, no doubt about it, but those comments could not have been more welcome than during finals week, and I really enjoyed giving those on my flist great big metaphorical bear hugs in return. My only regret is that I didn't get to do everyone on my flist before the comments hit 10,000 and no more could be posted. I love you, guys, and thank you!
Secondly, now that the semester's over I finally got a Tumblr! I'm gryfndorgodess over there, too. I even kept the same misspelling, even though unlike on LJ, the usernames are long enough that I could have spelled both 'Gryffindor' and 'goddess' correctly. I don't know how often I'll actually use it, as I'm useless at making graphics (I've photoshopped exactly one image in my life and all it entailed was adding text to a screencap for a confession at the original BuffySecrets Tumblr, and it took me upwards of two hours because I couldn't get Gimp to save my files; that's how bad I am at making graphics). I got a Tumblr mostly so that I could communicate more with flisties who aren't on LJ as much. When I do post, it'll mostly be reblogging. I'm also going to post links to political articles occasionally. They'll probably be mostly about civil rights stuff (like LGBT rights), but there will also be some links that are flat-out about politics. Fair warning, I'm a liberal and a borderline-atheist. Anyway, if any of you have Tumblrs and your handles are different from your LJ names, please let me know, as I'd like to follow you all there, too. :)
Thirdly, this may or may not be my last post until 2012, as I’m not on the Internet nearly as much when I’m at home and comments are usually down anyway during the holidays. My goal for break is to 1) finish Chapter 2 of my mpreg because it is deplorable that I have not already done so (and this is why I don’t post WIP…); 2) write the super-long S9 fic that #4 inspired; 3) catch up on writing TVD reviews; 4) catch up on writing SPN reviews; 5) resume writing my 2010 NaNo novel. If you’re interested in any of the first four and I haven’t delivered by January 18th (which is when my spring semester begins), feel free to pester me about them.
Ooh, and I almost forgot! I finally received my personalized autograph from Emma Caulfield that I bought for $40 in August! It is not exactly what was advertised (“A signed photo of Emma in her famous BtVS bunny suit holding a sign saying thank you, with your name on it”), but it’s still worth it. Emma’s wearing the suit and standing in front of a mirror pretending to put lipstick on the reflection of the head, which is next to her. I think that’s what she’s doing? It’s a little hard to tell. She’s not smiling, which is a shame, as it makes her look less Anya-like, but she’s looking right at the camera, which is cool. On the picture is written neatly and legibly: “To [my full name] Thank you! Emma Caulfield” I’ll have to try to scan it this break so that y’all can see it.
